Marin Sangha offers "Back to Basics" -- a series of five classes

This series offers instruction in basic Buddhist teachings and meditation. It is intended for students with little or no vipassana retreat experience and for those of us who would like a refresher in Buddhist fundamentals. The course will include lectures and meditation practice, including guided meditations, with plenty of time for questions and discussion.

This series is designed to provide background knowledge for better understanding of the Dharma teachings and meditation instructions in the Sunday evening classes.

Dates: Thursdays, January 14, 21, 28, February 11, 18, 2010
Time: 7:30 to 9:30 pm
Location: Larkspur
Taught by: Barbara McHugh and Bill Coffin

We ask that participants commit to attending all classes.
Class size is limited, so preregistration is required.

To reserve space email Bill Coffin at billc@eclipsoid.com . Please include your name, phone number, and email address. We’ll send the address and directions. Be patient, Bill might be out of town.

The class is offered on a dana basis.

This free five-week introductory course is offered two or three times a year to Marin Sangha members and covers both core Buddhist teachings and the basics of Buddhist meditation. It is intended both for beginners with no residential retreat experience who wish to learn the core principles of the Dharma and for those with some retreat experience who want a refresher or small-group setting in which to ask questions.

This series is designed to provide background knowledge for better understanding of the Dharma teachings and meditation instructions in the Sunday evening classes.

As soon as the next class series is scheduled, it will be announced.

Vipassana basics courses are also offered periodically at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre. Information is available at: www.spiritrock.org.
